Staff members have been using Older Adult Nest Egg survey’s when completing in-home assessments as a tool to help prevent clients from being victims of financial exploitation and determine their risk score for the future.
Successful Aging thru Financial Empowerment (SAFE) program is an assistance program that focuses on individuals recovering from fraud and protecting yourself in the future. Some of those things include contacting creditors, closing accounts, disputing information on your credit report, filing police reports/consumer reports, and placing alerts on your credit report. The SAFE program provides this assistance for individuals at no cost to them.
The programs were developed to empower the older population, provide education to advocate for themselves and provide additional resources for support. Maribeth, SAFE program case manager will be at Perennial Park on Wednesdays from 9am to 3pm. During the class, you will explore the bereavement process and ways of coping. The process will include discussion of material, pamphlet, guest speakers, and most importantly, weekly support and fellowship of group members. Pastor Mike will help guide you in the process. You will proceed at your own pace, and as you are ready, participate in the group.
Class is every Monday from 1:00pm to 3:00pm for eight (8) weeks starting on Monday, February 6th, 2023.
SilverSneakers EnerChi combines easy to learn tai chi forms and qigong exercises to improve well-being through mindful movement. Attention is given to transferring weight smoothly, maintaining postural control and focused breathing techniques. It builds muscular endurance without strain on your joints.
All SilverSneakers classes are included with Fitness Center membership.
In-Class session being offered at 10:00 a.m on Tuesdays.
Have fun and move with the music as you are led through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of motion, and activities of daily living skills. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and exercise balls are offered, and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support.

Board Members meet every month to discuss various items that concern Hillsdale County Senior Service Center.
General board meetings are open to the public and everyone is free to attend. Meetings usually last an hour and a half.
Join us for Ballroom Dancing on Tuesdays with Louise Fredrick. Two options are available whether you are wanting to learn or simply practice.
-Beginners from 5:30pm to 6:30pm
-Novice Dancers will dance from 6:30pm to 7:30pm.
